SYSTEMAT GROUP ACQUISITION

SPIE acquires Systemat and enters the ICT market in Belgium

Brussels, February 2nd , 2018 – SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, signed an agreement for the acquisition of Systemat in Belgium. This acquisition allows SPIE to enter the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services market in Belgium and to complement the wide range of services already offered by the Group in this country.

Established in 1981 and active both in Belgium and Luxembourg, Systemat is a provider of IT solutions related to the management of ICT equipment, software and infrastructure. The company employs around 150 employees and forecasts revenue of approximately €70 million for the current fiscal year.

This acquisition will enable SPIE Belgium to set foot in the ICT business and offer its customers this new range of services, already well-represented in the Group’s portfolio in other geographies.

The closing of the transaction remains subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities.

Johan Dekempe, Managing Director of SPIE Belgium, commented: “This acquisition enables SPIE Belgium to further expand its service portfolio. Systemat’s expertise in the ICT market will allow SPIE Belgium not only to expand its technical capabilities and client portfolio, but also to position itself on new markets with a multi-services offering combining its different business lines.

Pierre Focant, Managing Director of Systemat, and Vincent Schaller, Commercial Director, added: “SPIE Belgium is the ideal partner for our company. We consider this step as the continuity of Systemat’s development, as we are convinced that the digital transformation of companies will lead to the convergence of both technical and digital services: this shared vision will enable Systemat and SPIE Belgium to further develop under optimal conditions.”
